TrainingPlus is the division of ELT that designs, develops
and operates our corporate training program.
We offer a number of multi-level courses focusing on general
or business language acquisition and communication skills,
including speaking and listening, presenting, reading, writing
and comprehension.
|
|
| |
Additionally, we can design an English language training
course tailored directly to the needs of your corporation and
specific to the level of your employees.
Our courses cover all areas of business activities
such as letters, memos, emails, proposals, reports, policies
and procedures, marketing materials, speeches, giving presentations, business vocabulary, problem solving,
handling complaints, negotiation, meetings, travel,
company visits, employment and HR functions, financial
analysis, social activities, cross-cultural issues, plus
grammar, structure and comprehension.
|
|
|
| |
|
All courses are student centred, and adhere to quality standards
and the principles of adult learning. Content can be adapted to concentrate on the business and workplace communication
relevant to your industry.
Employees completing the courses can act as mentors to
future students, providing vital leadership and support in your
organisation. Some corporations establish an informal English
club or study groups to assist each other and maintain their
English proficiency.
|
|
| |
Courses are conducted at your premises on a day and time suitable for your employees, or at a conveniently located EnglishPlus Centre. Following the initial consultation a ‘draft' course proposal is developed outlining the course content.
This is reviewed by your HR or training manager.
The content may then be adjusted to suit staff learning
needs
and ensure it meets your requirements.

Selecting a course

your requirements.

Placement Test |
Once students are ready to begin the course a placement
test is conducted to ascertain the level of the students.
Our test standard is the equivalent to that of the TOEIC test
(TOEIC-Test of English for International Communication)
which is beneficial to both the employee and the company
in maintaining and improving upon international standards.
The number of classes depends on the number of prospective students and variations in the level of knowledge.

Customized & Tailored Courses
|
|
For customized and tailored courses, as well as placement
tests, students insight surveys are conducted to clarify their learning requirements and goals.
Feedback is also requested from the students' supervisor
to verify corporate needs.

Teaching/Learning Methodology
|
We understand that in any class, students will differ in their language ability. Activities, learning materials and teaching
styles are flexible and interactive to accommodate all
knowledge levels and extend learning.
Teaching and learning materials are selected and designed
to assist students and maximise classroom time, to promote
thinking skills, gain confidence, and practice English in a
non-threatening environment.
|
|
Various adult learning methods are used to engage students and promote active learning,
including;
|
|
- experiential learning
- student centred learning
- group and pair work
- structured writing practice
- interactive exercises
|
- role play/simulation/games
- student generated activities
- facilitator led discussion
- question and answer
- revision and consolidation

Evaluation and Review
|
| | We believe in continuous review and evaluation to maintain
quality standards. Information on corporate and student
requirements is sought prior to commencement of the
course through a needs analysis. A proposed course
outline is submitted and feedback is elicited and refinements
to the course are made.
During the initial session, having reviewed the course outline,
students are asked to complete a questionnaire, identify their
learning goals for the course and add any further topics they have
an interest in. |
This information is used to validate and modify the course content so that the course fully meets
requirements.
|
|
|
| |
Informal feedback on the course can be provided to the teacher at anytime. At the half-way point
students complete a mid-course evaluation providing feedback on their progress, suitability of
content and teaching approach. If requested, a student assessment can be conducted at this
stage.
A course review and final evaluation is conducted during the last session of the course. A post
test can also be conducted as required. The course teacher also keeps attendance records,
progress reports and notes on classes. Summaries of the reports are provided to you including
recommendations for further training as required. Certificates are provided to all students upon
completion of course.
